Corvette found after 42 years, but reunion lost to red tape

DULUTH, Ga. -- If a car is stolen, police usually find it within six months, if they find it at all. So imagine Terry Dietrich's shock when police called to say her car had been found - after 42 years.

Dietrich always believed her car had been stripped for parts and dumped in the Chattahoochee River. Turns out it was hot rodding around Forest City, NC the past 40 years.

Dietrich has always loved Corvettes. The first one was made in 1953, the year she was born. In 1972, her father who worked for GM, used his employee discount to help her buy one. It was a 1972 blue T-top stingray.

Dietrich was in love.
