Controlled Christmas Tree Burn at Lowe’s in Suwanee, December 18th

On Saturday, December 18th, the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Suwanee, have teamed up to bring a powerful message of what can go wrong if you are not properly caring for a live Christmas tree.

A mock room has been constructed in the parking lot and will be complete with a live tree and furnishings.  The tree will be burned to demonstrate the dangers of a live tree that is not properly cared for.  Information will also be available for those who use an artificial tree to decorate for the holidays.  This will be a highly graphic and visual demonstration.  The media is asked to please help get the word out about this important and timely event.  The media is also invited to attend and cover the burn.  The safety fair is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  The live Christmas tree burn demo will take place at 12 p.m.

Lowe’s Home Improvement Store is located at 3260 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in Suwanee.
