Mall of Georgia adds gallery from Hudgens Center for the Arts

BUFORD, Ga. -- Mall of Georgia is featuring more than just an impressive lineup of retail and entertainment options – shoppers can enjoy artwork from local aspiring Picassos as well!

The iconic shopping center has recently teamed up with The Hudgens Center for the Arts for an exhibit installation, showcasing various abstract paintings from neighborhood artists. The art installation – located on the Upper Level of the mall near Invicta and Vans – will be on display through 2015.

“The Hudgens is committed to bringing superior arts programming to the community,” said Teresa Osborn, executive director of The Hudgens Center of the Arts. “Teaming up with Mall of Georgia has been a great opportunity to showcase our local artists.”

The Hudgens Center for the Arts, a non-profit organization located in Gwinnett County, presents approximately 10 exhibitions annually to showcase a variety of mediums and artists. The Center also offers year-round fine arts classes for adults and children, taught by established artists and educators.

“We are thrilled to host this exhibit from The Hudgens Center for the Arts,” said Carol Cox, director of mall marketing and business development at Mall of Georgia. “Mall of Georgia was designed to embody Georgia’s history and heritage through a variety of murals, artifacts, displays and themed courtyards showcasing Georgia customs. This art installation furthers that cultural focus by celebrating our community’s incredible talent.”
