Ronald Hart Named to Barron’s 2011 “Top 100 Financial Advisors”

ATLANTA, GA May 17, 2011 – Morgan Stanley Smith Barney announced today that Ronald Hart, a managing director of the Hart Group in the Firm’s Atlanta office, has been named to Barron’s annual list of America’s Top 100 Financial Advisors.

The “Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors” is a select group of individuals who are screened on a number of criteria. Among factors the survey takes into consideration are assets under management, revenue produced for the Firm and quality of service provided to clients. Investment performance is not an explicit criterion.

“I am extremely proud that Ron Hart is representing Morgan Stanley Smith Barney on this list,” commented Michael Outlaw, Branch Manager of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Atlanta office.

Bidding closes at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Gwinnett Commissioners may postpone airport vote

Gwinnett Commissioners may postpone airport vote

LAWRENCEVILLE --  A decision on whether to allow ticketed passenger service at Briscoe Field may have to wait a little longer.

A Gwinnett Board of Commissioners votes is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, but a resolution may be introduced to delay the vote so that more residents can voice their opinions.

The issue at hand is whether to begin to allow larger passenger planes, seating up to 140, to fly in and out of Briscoe Field, which currently serves only coporate jets and small commercial aircraft.

Commissioner John Heard, who is scheduled to introduce the resolution, opposes allowing large passenger planes into the airport.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Recently, the QualTex Laboratories, a San Antonio, Texas-based independent blood testing lab, celebrates the grand opening of its expanded operations in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

The company hired more than 100 “highly-trained”, expert clinical laboratory scientists and the likes for their expansion in Norcross.

The company plans to invest about $12 million dollars into this branch of the company over the next five years.

The QualTex Norcross facility will house a data center and tests more than eight million biological samples, whole blood and plasma, double its operations a year ago.

Commercial Property Assessment notices incorrect, corrected notices to be mailed April 6

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – (submitted by Gwinnett County) The commercial property value assessment notices that were mailed on Friday, March 25 by the Gwinnett County Board of Tax Assessors should be disregarded. The notices were sent to the incorrect owner due to a production error. Corrected notices will be issued on April 6. The Board of Tax Assessors contracted with a private company to print and mail the 13,944 commercial property notices. “On behalf of Gwinnett County and the Board of Tax Assessors, I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this error may cause,” said Steve Pruitt, Gwinnett County Tax Assessor.

The printing company will bear the entire cost of reprinting and mailing the notices of assessment to the correct property owners. Since the mailing date has shifted by more than a week, the last day to appeal commercial assessment values will be May 23.
