Local Students Win National Preparedness Month Art and Essay Contest

During the month of September, across Georgia, more than 400 fifth-grade students competed for an opportunity to rank among the top six winners in Ready Georgia’s second annual National Preparedness Month Art and Essay Contest.

The goal of this contest was to have students to showcase their talent by combining creativity with emergency preparedness know-how to create works of art that describe the steps for emergency preparedness and its importance at home and school.

Participants submitted original artwork and essays incorporating the theme, “Ready, Set, Go!” and were encouraged to draw upon personal experiences of how their families prepare for emergencies or how they plan to help their families prepare.

Gwinnett Tech Interiors Building Grand Re-Opening
