Simon malls and Universal Studios Home Entertainment are encouraging families to get hopping to Atlanta-area Simon malls for a series of special Easter festivities.

Mall of Georgia invites area kids and parents to attend a family-friendly Easter Photo Experience event, taking place through the holiday. Kids will have the chance to visit with the sought-after Easter Bunny and get ready for the Blu-ray™/DVD release of HOP from Universal Studios Home Entertainment on March 23, the all-new comedy about candy, chicks and rock ‘n’ roll, and even meet the movie’s star E.B. in person!

ATLANTA -- Hop on over to your local Simon mall this Easter for plenty of fun for the whole family, including visits from the Easter Bunny himself.

The Melting Pot raises $80K for CHOA

ATLANTA -- After several fundraising campaigns throughout the year, representatives from the Melting Pot presented Children's Healthcare of Atlanta with an $80,000 donation.

Mark and Layla Gunn, who own and operate all four Atlanta-area Melting Pot locations, joined forces with Broadway Across America and Pure Imagination Charity to raise the money.

To show its appreciation for the restaurant chain's generosity, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite dedicated Examination Room 18 to the Gunn family.

Give to 11Alive's Can-a-thon on Dec. 2

ATLANTA -- Friday, Dec. 2 will mark 11Alive's annual Can-a-thon food collection for families in need.

Bring a donation of canned goods to one of five locations throughout Metro Atlanta. While you're there, meet and mingle with your neighbors and your favorite 11Alive anchors and reporters.

Pop-top cans are preferable, as they are easier to open for people who don't own typical kitchen utensils. Canned meats, fruits and green vegetables will be warmly welcomed.

Those who bring a minimum of 111 cans of food can enter for a chance to win two round-trip tickets from AirTran Airways. More information and the opportunity to register will be available during the event. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to participate.
