Firefighters work to determine cause of Gwinnett County house fires | News
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett County fire crews are working to determine the cause of two separate house fires in Duluth and Buford.
One fire is at 4745 Fairway View Court NW in Duluth, where flames were coming from the back of a two-story home when firefighters arrived around 6:00 p.m.
No injuries were caused by the fire. The cause is still unknown.
The second fire, at 208 Brookcliff Drive NE in Buford burned an attic and top floor of a two-story wood frame and brick home. When crews arrived around 5:45 p.m., they found flames going through the roof.
There was nobody home when the fire started, and investigations continue to try and determine the cause of the fire. The fire department reported that it looks as though the fire began in a second-floor bedroom on the home's left side.
Upon attack, firefighters entered the home to fight from inside. However, they had to back out because of intense heat and flames. The fire was already running the roof line as crews fought the flames from outside.
After additional attack with hoses and a ladder, they got the fire under control and re-entered the home to extinguish the fire and overhaul damage.
The main level and basement were damaged by water and smoke.
As with the fire in Duluth, this incident caused no injuries.
