Is third attempted abduction attempt related to two others?
News

(WXIA) - Word of a third attempted abduction with descriptions of a similar vehicle to two other cases has law enforcement in two counties working to see if the cases are, in fact, related to each other.

The newest case comes from Walton County.

Sheriff's officials there said they have received a report of a man in a black truck following two girls. The girls were able to run away.

Two other attempted abductions have Gwinnett County on alert. The two incidents involve two boys at two separate locations, just five miles apart.

Now, officials are trying to determine if the two incidents are connected.

For families in the Fairmont subdivision, there is an undercurrent of concern and anxiety.

In the most recent incident, investigators said an 11 year-old boy described a man driving a black pick-up who he said tried to grab him as he walked home from a bus stop on Tuesday.

"We had a suspicious white male exit a black pick-up and walk quickly toward the young man who made the report to his parents that someone had chased him or pursued him," said --

Last week, in the Brooks Crossing neighborhood, about five miles away, a 7 year-old boy says a man, also driving a black pick-up, tried to grab him as he was playing basketball in his front yard.

The boys' description of the truck is similar - a small-to-mid-sized black pick-up, possibly a Ford Ranger or Mazda. The truck had a possible tag number of BXL-6164. But the boys' descriptions of the would-be kidnapper differs. In the first incident, the suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, with a slender build and wearing a fedora. The second boy described the suspect as a middle-aged overweight white male with a beard and no moustache.

Anyone with any information about the suspect is asked to call Gwinnett County Police or to call 911.
