DULUTH, Ga. -- Jennifer Burley, a science teacher at Duluth Middle School, is the 2013 Georgia Middle School Science Teacher of the Year.

The Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA) presented Burley with her award during its annual banquet last weekend.

Burley has taught seventh grade science at Duluth Middle since 2004. She was the school's Teacher of the Year for the 2009-10 school year.

Burley has a bachelor's degree in geology and environmental science and policy from Clemson University, a master's degree in science education from Georgia State University and a specialist's degree in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College.
