Come to this restaurant on Sunday afternoon and you can hob-nob and stand shoulder to shoulder with Atlanta’s political elite. The restaurant is known for their “Southern Fried Chicken” served with their famous home-style sides, which include black-eyed peas, fried okra and collard greens. They also offer classic southern cuisine like Shrimp and Grits and Fried Catfish. The restaurant is located at 180-B Northside Drive in Atlanta.

Busy Bee Café offers daily specials; from their Monday Meatloaf to their Baked Tilapia on Fridays, they’ve got it all.

Described as one of the premier cupcakery in Atlanta, CamiCakes “specializes in gourmet cupcakes for Atlantan’s to enjoy for every occasion. The bakery offers an array of cupcakes like the Lemon Drop, Sweet Potato, Strawberries and Cream and the CinnaSwirl. The shop isn’t open on Sunday’s and sometimes they offer half-price cupcakes on Saturday, in order to sellout. All cupcakes are baked fresh, daily. And this shop has locations in Jacksonville and Tinseltown, Florida. CamiCakes is located at 2221 Peachtree Road in Atlanta.

Tucked away in Milton, Jilly’s Cupcakery is a family owned cupcake bakery which offers cupcakes for every occasion.

According to some, Jim and Nick’s BBQ is typical chain barbecue but according to others, it’s the best in town. The restaurant serves up the best fried catfish and isn’t too shabby when it comes to the fixings. Guests rave about their cornbread cheese muffins, salads and baked potatoes. Although the restaurant is popular for BBQ, they host a weekly Taco Night on Tuesdays. The restaurant is located at 1103 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee.

Jot Em Down BBQ and Store is popular with the locals and UGA students, alike. The residents boasts that they do BBQ “the way it’s s’posed to be”.

Popular Mori House offers diners the opportunity to “experience Japanese style cuisine” for an affordable price. This restaurant strives to provide diners with high quality, traditional sushi and sashimi. The restaurant offers, both, an ala carte and omakaze style of dining. The restaurant is located at 4325 Suwanee Dam Road in Suwannee.

The restaurant Sushi Kita is described as, “a nice, clean, small sushi restaurant” on the main stretch of Suwannee. According to loyal diners, the restaurant offers a very comfortable environment and the octopus salad is a favorite. The restaurant doesn’t boast a fancy menu however, it settles the cravings.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- A popular seafood restaurant chain has partnered with the Salvation Army to benefit the Georgia and Alabama families affected by the storms on Apr. 28.

On Thursday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., customers who dine at certain Joe's Crab Shack locations will have 10 percent of their checks donated to the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army has been on the ground providing relief to the immediate needs of tornado survivors in Georgia and Alabama.

The Rexall Grill is a crowd pleaser. This restaurant is casual and most visitors come back for more. Rexall Grill serves southern food and many say it takes like “home cooked food”. The restaurant opens, pretty, early at 5:30 a.m. and they only accept cash, so be sure to have it. Come visit the restaurant at 3165 Buford Highway in Duluth.

This restaurant is described as offering “everything you could possibly want 24 hours a day”. The Georgia Diner is a classic, “greasy spoon” diner, located in Lawrenceville, which offers classic dinner breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of the offerings are under $10 and they even use real eggs.

My kids wanted to do something fun to celebrate Mother’s Day with me so I said, hey let’s go to my friend Rachel’s place. The kids had never met her but I told them they would love the newly opened spot in Duluth,Ga.I put on one of my favorite dresses and found one of the biggest hats I owned and we were off to brunch at Purple Rain Restaurant & Lounge. It was a gorgeous day here in Atlanta,Ga so I was excited to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
