ATLANTA -- Eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill just got even better.

All Atlanta-area Chipotle locations will donate the day's proceeds to the Education Garden at Piedmont Park this Wednesday, Oct. 24.

The giveaway is part of the restaurant chain's recognition of Food Day, a nationwide movement that works to improve food policies.

Chipotle will give the Education Garden up to $10,000. More than 800 children visit the garden every year to learn about natural and organic gardening methods.

Outback Steakhouse donates meals to local seniors

SUWANEE, Ga. -- Nearly 400 Gwinnett County seniors will receive free meals Wednesday from Outback Steakhouse.

The restaurant on Celebration Boulevard in Suwanee is donating meals of grilled steak and chicken, vegetables, mashed potatoes and bread to Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Services.

The charity lunch is part of the steakhouse chain's Outback at Work program. Wednesday's meals will be prepared at 9:30 a.m. and then delivered to seniors across Gwinnett County.

Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Services provides financial support to the county's senior programs. About 150,000 seniors benefit from annual events like the Outback meal giveaway.

Marlow’s Tavern recently celebrated the winners of the restaurant’s summer grilling recipe contest at a party at the new Dunwoody location on Saturday, September 8. The “Get Up in Our Grill” Recipe Contest was held during Marlow’s popular six-week “Red, White and Brew” menu feature (held June 12 through July 23) and gave local grill masters the opportunity to enter their favorite recipes for a chance to win an array of prizes.

ATLANTA -- La Madeleine Country French Café is making it easy for customers to help hungry kids.

The restaurant chain has teamed up with Share Our Strength to support its annual fundraiser, Dine Out for No Kid Hungry.

"It is tragic that there are kids in our own communities going to bed hungry when there is a solution," la Madeleine president and COO Phil Costner said in a statement. "This is why the la Madeleine family has joined the ranks of those who can and are doing something about it."

From Wednesday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 22, la Madeleine customers who donate at least $1 to No Kid Hungry will receive a free triple chocolate peppermint cookie.

A $5 donation will score customers a coupon booklet featuring $20 worth of coupons for la Madeleine favorites, such as bakery treats and the chain's famous tomato basil soup.
