Fight the Flu While You Shop

ATLANTA -- There's no need to avoid the mall for fear of getting sick this flu season -- not when you can get a flu shot while you shop.

Every weekend from Sept. 24 to Oct. 24, pop-up flu clinics will be set up in local Simon malls, where nurses and educators will be on-hand to administer flu shots and answer questions about the vaccine.

The cost for a shot is $28; cash, credit and debit cards and Simon mall gift cards are accepted. Government-issued Medicare is also accepted with no out-of-pocket costs.

To reserve a spot and avoid the line, register a time with WellCheck and pay for your shot early. Walk-ins are also welcome.

The participating Simon malls are:

Gwinnett Place (2100 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, 30096)

Friday/Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 p.m.

Whole Foods Helps You Give Back

The Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center Foundation has been selected to participate in Whole Foods Market’s 5% Day Giving Program.

By shopping at the John’s Creek/Duluth Whole Foods Market (5495 State Bridge Road) on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, five percent of the store’s total pre-tax sales for the day will go to the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center Foundation.

The Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center reaches more than 40,000 students, through its education programs, in its efforts to inspire and engage them in solving tomorrow’s environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development practices and new technologies.

“Whole Foods Market 5% Day is dedicated to helping non-profit organizations in the local community.  Our focus is to support innovative groups that strive to make the world a better place,” said Kubeshni Moodley, Marketing Team Leader at the John’s Creek/Duluth Whole Foods Market.
